STANDARDS II
II. Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards.
- Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
- Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress
- Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources
- Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching
Reflection
The advent of technology in the classrooms has transformed traditional teaching methods, whereas teachers are the central focus of delivering curriculum and lecturing students. Technology has transformed student learning into a bilateral process where students are the focal point of how educational content is delivered, and educators use can use survey tools such as Google Forms to develop student needs assessments. Flipped classrooms support this as the course site acts as a hub for student access to technology tools such as ThingLink and Scoop.it! that are used to facilitate teaching and learning of content, and allow students to engage through linked audio, video, and simulation experiences that address their unique learning style needs. Flipped classroom course sites also provide a medium in which students can access various resources to explore content more in-depth, supporting learner centered teaching, and student development of knowledge, skills and attitudes to become lifelong learners. Finally, as students engage in learning, their progress is monitored through the use of formative and summative assessments using tools such as RubiStar to develop rubrics, and Easy TestMaker to develop tests. These assessments provide an opportunity for teachers to provide feedback to students, correct misunderstandings, and adjust curriculum in order to ensure that the students' learning needs are met.

Future Learning Goals
Through my interest in educational assessments, I plan to further explore technology tools that can be implemented to evaluate student performance, and the effectiveness of the tools used to deliver instruction, in order to ensure that student learning objectives are being met. By evaluating the tools used, I can conduct further research on educational technology tools integrate the tools that align best with learning objectives.
