STANDARDS I
I. Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments.
- Promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
- Engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
- Promote student reflection using collaborative tools to reveal and clarify students’ conceptual understanding and thinking, planning, and creative processes
- Model collaborative knowledge construction by engaging in learning with students, colleagues, and others in face-to-face and virtual environments
Reflection
Technology provides a platform for students to learn through engagement with peers, teachers, and other individuals. Tools such as Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Forms present opportunities for students not only to learn content, but also to demonstrate their understanding of material, and collaborate with others and gain feedback while doing so. Blogfolios and forums allow students to reflect on their learning experiences, as well as interact with other students who share their own perspective and ideas on the content being discussed. Scoop.it! exposes students to current articles about real world events, and students can engage in discussion and express innovative solutions, thoughts or idea to concepts. These tools enable students to examine, analyze, and interpret the information received through teaching, through collaboration, and demonstrate their understanding in creative and innovative ways using technology tools or through classroom activities as in the Flipped Classroom setting.

Future Learning Goals
I plan to continue to explore the numerous technology tools that can be used to connect students to real world application, and stimulate novel thinking and engagement among students. These tools will be essential for supporting teaching efforts to meet student learning objectives. This will require continuous professional development in this area.
